The Boat Race – Which Blue are you?

Not only will this weekend bring us longer daylight hours, endless amount of chocolate and bunny treats, and a long bank holiday weekend… The boat race of the year will also commence on Sunday 27th March at 16:10.

For those living under a rock (such as myself), the Oxford vs Cambridge boat race is watched by thousands along the banks of the Thames and viewed by millions. First raced in 1829, the boat races are a unique sporting event. To celebrate this event, we have hand-picked some of our favourite products to ensure that whichever shade of blue you’ll be supporting, there is something for you this (hopefully) beautiful Spring weekend.

Handmade Ceramic Mug

Lets face it, you can’t get more British then a boat race between the two most prestigious Universities in the UK – Why not top it off with the British tradition of Tea.

Lets face it, you can’t get much more quintessentially British than a boat race between the two most prestigious Universities in the UK – so why not top it off with the British tradition of tea.

Whilst hosting the boat party this weekend and offering out your hot drinks, why not serve them in this beautiful rustic aesthetic of this artisan handcrafted ceramic mug is the result of one of the world’s most ancient ceramics techniques. Coiling (colombino in Italian) involves layering up long strips of clay by hand to create the desired shape.

Too nice to serve with tea and coffee? This shape is so desirable that as well as using it as a mug – you can also display it as an ornamental design object.

Although we’re sporting all blue this week, it is also available in purple, lilac and yellow…

Cushioned Sole Rib Sock

By Sock and Trotter

Now here’s a secret for all of you. Men secretly really care about their socks. How they fit, the style, colour, feel and look is an integral part of our daily fashion. Some would say it’s as important as other accessories, such as the tie, or cuff-links (they all have to match!)

Rugged and super fashionable, these socks look great with Redwings, tatty old jeans and a top knot or snappy pinstripes and Brogues! Soft and cool, this flecked combed cotton sock has a cushioned sole and hand sewn toe seams.

Best of all, it’s made right here in our famous British Isles.

Whether you’re hosting an elegant soiree, heading up to Putney Bridge to watch Oxford vs Cambridge  or just enjoying your long Easter weekend – we have the perfect gifts and accessories for you – right here on Spirit-Boutique!
